Common Language Run-Time (CLR)
.NET framework is an excellent software development environment for creating web applications and windows applications. The excellent and unique feature of .NET framework is that it has CLR (Common Language Run-time).
CLR allows the developers to write code in multiple
programming languages and that code can be integrated with the help of Cross
Language Integration (CLI). Common Language Run-time is responsible for
managing the execution of new applications developed using .NET framework.
Types of Code
- Managed Code
The code which is executed
with the control of Common Language Run-time is known as managed code.
- Unmanaged Code
Application or code which
does not have the control of Common Language Run-time is termed as unmanaged
code.
