Difference between Internet and Intranet
It's obvious that the 21st century has become a world of networking. Computers
are connected globally with the help of internet. Probably the internet
is a well-known term used by even common people, but what is
‘Intranet’? What's its use? How it differs from internet?
Unlike internet, intranet is familiar among the corporate companies and IT sectors. Multiple computers of an organization or company are connected to the network with help of TCP/IP protocols. Every computer is identified in the network with its unique IP address. The computers connected to the intranet are not available outside the organization.
Differences:
• Intranet is available to specific number of computers whereas internet is available to computers all around the world.
• Intranet is very safe and privatized but internet is not safe to that extent.
• Intranet offers restricted access to websites where internet provides a better access to all websites.
Similarities:
• Both use TCP/IP and FTP protocols
• In both types, websites are accessed with web browsers.
